Esplanade Ridge Revisited
Here is a repainted version of a much smaller piece I did awhile ago. Here is a link to the original version. This time out, I painted in acrylics with a less colorful palette.

Buddy Holly by Rick Geary
I know I usually use this region of cyberspace to present my own work, but today I had to share the latest in a series of commissioned illustrations done by my pal Rick Geary. Every time one shows up in the mail, I am more amazed. Rick is an immensely talented artist best known for his series of true crime graphic novels published by NBM. Recently, Rick has started covering 20th century crimes and is at work on the World War I era 'Axe-Man' serial murder case based right here in New Orleans. Please take a look at his work. It's great stuff that you'll enjoy.

Terrence Simien painting
Here's a new painting of Grammy winning Zydeco musician Terrence Simien. I painted this one in acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas. I've posted a handful of shots of the paintings in progress. I had a lot of fun with it and especially like the way it turned out.

The End of an Era & Small Treasures
Just as K&B drugstores have seen their last day, the Bluebird Cafe on Prytania Street has ceased operation as of May 31st. My friends at the Bluebird created an institution that lasted for over 20 years, but all good things end and what better way to go out while still on top of their game.
In their honor, my first in a series of 'small treasures' paintings (4" x 4") is dedicated to the Bluebird Cafe.

Mardi Gras Flambeaux!
Here's my latest finished piece. It's for a 'Carnival' themed show at Esopi Galleries in Baton Rouge. This one is 15" x 30" and painted in acrylic. The Flambeaux are a long standing New Orleans Mardi Gras tradition dating back to pre-electrically lighted parades. You can read more about them here. It will be for sale at the gallery beginning on February 7th.
This painting is available as a signed, 12 x 24" canvas giclee print for $195 plus $15 shipping.
